Michigan has no single office for every inmate or release record. The right contact depends on who held the person and which document needs correction or confirmation. A county sheriff controls its jail booking and release material. The Michigan Department of Corrections controls state-prison, parole, probation, and discharge records. Courts maintain their own dockets, while BOP and ICE handle their separate federal custody systems.

A roster, locator, or court entry can lag behind a physical event. Give the record custodian the person’s name and aliases, known agency number, approximate dates, facility, and the exact document sought. This site cannot submit the request, correct an agency database, or estimate when an office will respond.
